Is hand cleaning effective for carpets?

carpet cleaning is indeed heard a little bit heavy to deal with hand but if you can apply all the processes and formulas properly then hand cleaning is very useful too.it is believed that carpet cleaning is impossible without a vacuum cleaner. However, it’s not so true. There are a lot of ways so that the homemakers will be able to clean their carpets by hand and all of the ways are not that tough also.

The convenience and effectiveness of a vacuum cleaner in home cleaning are undeniable. However, there are several cases where a vacuum cleaner cannot be used all the time. Here, in that case, hand cleaning may take some time but it is effective and useful for any of our homemakers.The  ingredients that are used for carpet cleaning are also readily available and affordable. These all are everyday use elements.

So, the answer is, yes hand cleaning can be very effective for your carpet.

What you need:

  • Salt
  • Water
  • White Vinegar
  • Baking Soda
  • Essential Oil
  • Dishwashing liquid

Equipment:

  • A brush
  • A bucket
  • A bowl
  • Towel or cloth
  • Spray bottles

Instructions:

1. Use a carpet brush

To clean dirt, dust, andhair from your carpet using a carpet brush. Just brush with an average force and make sure that all the pollutants have been removed completely from your carpet.

2. Vinegar is a good thing to use

Take a bucket of warm water and mix ¼ cup white vinegar with it. Dip a brush to that warm water mixture and scrub your carpet using the brush. Keep scrubbing the entire carpet until you’re satisfied with it. Fill the bucket with fresh water and use a rag to clean the carpet again with fresh water. When you’re done with both vinegar mixture and freshwater cleaning, let it dry properly.

3. Clean the area rugs:

Take 1 cup vinegar, 2 cups of water, 1 cup salt, 2 teaspoons of essential oil, and mix them in a bowl. Vacuum the rug to clean all the loose dirt. Before starting, apply the solution on the corner of the rug to test colorfastness, if the color doesn’t fade go ahead with your process.

Dip a brush into the mixture and start scrubbing the rug. Let the solution sit on the rug for at least 15 minutes. In the meantime, clean the bowl and put fresh water to rinse the rug using a towel or any soft cloth. Let the rug dry in the sunlight. Allow both of the parts to be dried. Once it has dried properly use a brush or vacuum cleaner if possible, to loosen up the carpet fibers of the rug.

4. Baking soda is a solution for oil stains and pet urine:

Baking soda is an amazing ingredient that you will love to use for cleaning your carpet. Oil is the hardest thing to remove from the carpet, so use baking soda when the stains are so strong that you can’t treat those with hot water.

Apply some baking soda on the stained area and leave it until it absorbs the stain. This procedure is equally useful to get rid of animal urine odor. If you’re a pet owner then you must agree that animal urine doesn’t give up without a fight. For these cases, Baking Soda can be a best friend of yours.

5. Strength of ice cube:

When you move any heavy furniture from your carpet, there will be some disgusting impressions on the carpet that you surely don’t like. For this type of signs on carpet use ice cube that will help to vanish the signs. Place a piece of an ice cube on these dents and let them melt. Afterward, blot the water and iron the area until dry. Use a towel or soft cloth on it while ironing.

Ice cube is not only useful for vanishing heavy dents but also it will work to remove  gum from your carpet. Sometimes Heavy gum takes place on our carpet that seems very difficult to reduce it can even damage or stretch the fiber. So, don’t fight with a gum rather use place an ice cube on the gum, It will freeze it and allow you to remove it from your carpet.

6. Dishwashing liquids can be your carpet cleaner also:

In a spray bottle, mix   ¼ cup dishwashing liquid with 1 cup hot water. Spray the liquid solution on a soft cloth and dab the cloth on the spot. As the stain dissolves blot with a clean part of the cloth. Keep doing it until the stain vanishes. Spray another cloth with cold water and use it to remove the detergent solution from the carpet.

Place a paper towel to make the area dry and put a heavy pot or something on it. Overnight the towel will soak up any stain deep in the carpet.

7. Removing coffee stains from carpet

At first, try to blot up as much of the coffee as you can. Mix 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, and 2 cups of warm water. Apply a little of the mixture on the stain. You can use a clean white cloth or sponge to apply the mixture. Then blot frequently with a dry cloth until the stain removes. Use cold water to remove the soap mixture and blot dry.

8. Removing Red Wine Stain

Use baking soda on the place and blot with a white cloth until the stain disappears. You can use white wine instead of baking soda.

9. How to remove mud stains:

If your carpet gets dirty with mud let the stain dry. Once the area is dry clean with a brush. Rinse the area with water and detergent. Make sure the detergent is appropriate for the fabric of your carpets.

10. Shaving cream formula

Do you believe a shaving cream can remove almost every kind stain? Yes, ordinary shaving cream is also a cleaning material for your carpet. Just apply some shaving cream on the stain and keep in for about 30-40 minutes until it sits on your carpet. Once it has set blot the cream with a dry white cloth.

Use a 50/50 quantity of water and white vinegar to make a mixture and spray the solution on that stained area. Finish with wiping the solution with a clean cloth or sponge.

11. Solution for candy stuck

Have babies in the home? Then undoubtedly this will help you a lot. Sometimes candies stuck in the carpet so badly that it becomes a struggle.

In that case, scrape the candy with a knife or a spoon. Use any kind of stain remover to clean all of the sugar. Then use a clean cloth to absorb the stain remover along with the stain. Afterward, spray some white vinegar on a plain cloth and blot the area with it. Once the stain is removed, blot the area with a clean cloth moistened with fresh water. Then blot with a dry cloth and allow the area to dry completely.

12. How to  Remove Ink and Marker

Use a small amount of solvent to a white cloth. Blot the spotted area with it and wait 15 minutes to dry the area. Rinse by blotting with a cloth moistened with lukewarm water.
